September 24th — October 8th
- First draft of code working (News API -> database -> ML API -> back to database -> calculated score).
- Close in on conceptual questions (specificity, sources, range...).
October 1st — October 21st (October 22nd Milestone: proof of concept)
- First draft of physical aspect — not working mechanically yet, but in terms of form and scale.
- Refining parts of the code and connecting all the pieces together, implementing ways of balancing the score.
- Possibly a screen based representation of the meter both for testing purposes and for proof of concept.
October 23rd — November 20th
- Finalizing the code — making it as reliable as possible, taking care of extreme cases, adding balancing methods.
- Prototype iterations and tests.
- User testing.
November 21st — December 7th
- Actual fabrication of the final piece
- Letting it run for a longer period, seeing if any issues arise and making adjustments as necessary.
December 8th & 9th
- Documentation of the working piece.
- A web page showcasing the piece with more context and a statement, possibly including documentation from the process, as well as the code and an explanation of how the calculations are made.
December 10th
Presenting the final project in class
Future?
If it turns out well I hope I can maybe submit it to appropriate open calls / gallery exhibitions / festivals...
